We know how important it is to stay together. Here is everything you need to know to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for both you and your pet.

Small Pets (In-Cabin)

Small dogs‚ cats‚ and ferrets are welcome to fly in the cabin with their owners.

Flying with Pets info


  • Carrier: Max Size = 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Must allow the pet to stand‚ turn‚ and lie down comfortably. The carrier must stay on the floor. It is forbidden to place it on your lap during takeoff and landing.
  • Weight: Up to 8 kg (including the carrier). This applies even if two pets share a carrier.
  • Cost: €80 per carrier‚ per way.

Important information for passengers traveling with small pets

You must receive approval at least 7 days before your flight by sending the Checklist for Pet in Cabin to bookings@BlueBirdair.com with the following:

  • Pet Passport
  • Recent Rabies vaccination & antibody test
  • Echinococcus (tapeworm) treatment record
  • Health certificate approved by official government veterinary services
  • Non-commercial transport declaration
  • For flights from Europe to Israel: You must notify the Israeli Veterinary Services at vs-airport@moag.gov.il or by fax: 03-9485869 at least 48 hours before takeoff. Click here for additional information.

Service‚ Rescue & Emotional Support Dogs

Certified service and emotional support dogs are permitted to fly in the cabin with their owners.

Flying with Pets info


  • Flight Requirement: The dog must be leashed from check-in until landing. You must carry a muzzle in case it is required during the flight.
  • Cost: Traveling with a service or emotional support dog requires the purchase of an additional seat.

Important information for passengers traveling with service‚ rescue & emotional support dogs

Submit the Checklist for Pet in Cabin to bookings@BlueBirdair.com at least 7 days before departure with:

  • Pet Passport
  • Recent Rabies vaccination & antibody test
  • Echinococcus (tapeworm) treatment record
  • Health certificate approved by official government veterinary services
  • Non-commercial transport declaration
  • Medical certificate from a doctor confirming the need for the dog.
  • EU Pet Acceptance Form (GOM APPENDIX A.1.3).
  • Proof of certification from ADI (Assistance Dogs International) or IGDF (International Guide Dog Federation)‚ or another accredited training organization.
  • For flights from Europe to Israel: You must notify the Israeli Veterinary Services at vs-airport@moag.gov.il or by fax: 03-9485869 at least 48 hours before takeoff. Click here for additional information.

Keep in Mind

  • Book Early: If you don’t book in advance‚ we reserve the right to decline your pet at check-in.
  • Check-in Ready: Please have all original documents and your pet ready for inspection at the check-in counter.
  • Entry Requirements: It is your responsibility to verify the entry rules of your destination or connection country. Bluebird Airways is not liable if entry is denied.
  • Behavior & Health: We may refuse transport if the animal shows signs of illness‚ poses a safety risk‚ causes a disturbance‚ or appears untrained for public settings.
  • Authority: The Captain has the final word. If an animal poses a safety risk or disrupts other passengers‚ it may be moved to the hold or removed from the aircraft.
